Captain Vijaykanth is back to the big screen after a long time handling story,screenplay and direction department in CCC banner with his movie Virudhagiri. It is more of delivering his political agenda, political punches, future party plans than of a action movie. Story

Virudhagiri(Vijayakanth) is honest, upright Assistant commissioner of police, Tamilnadu brings proud to India, by finding a terrorist, & stopping the attack in Scotland single highhandedly , at the all world police training in Scotland. He comes back to Chennai, leaves with dad,mom, her widowed sister and her Daughter Priya(Meenakshi). There has been fishy in the city as Lot of transgenders are getting lost . Commissioner of police is all discussing the problem of Indian student attacks in Australia with the important officers.


Transgenders case comes to the hands of Virudhagiri. He investigates...finds the criminal behinds the lost transgenders who are killed and their human body parts are illegally cut , sold to foreign nation for dollar price. Priya gets the permission to go for a trip to Australia from Virudhagiri but with some conditions.At the Australia airport, Priya with her friend cousin meet kevin.Further Priya is kidnapped by dangerous woman trafficking network where Virudhagiri has deadline of 96hrs to find her chubby Priya. Virudhagiri challenges the group and land in Australia to find Priya ..also the person behind the Indian students attack. has his task Accomplished?....

Strengths

Vijayakanth donning the role of cop again is treat to watch.His sentimental & emotion remains same. he loudly announce that he is king of stunts. Vijayakanth this time has done some dare devil-risky stunts though gravity defying...it is well choreographed. Watch out for his dynamic leg kicks......Some clever-tackled scenes raises the hope of the movie..Pregnant women doesn't wear high heals at that time, gods name not mentioned in Government placed site boards, Good luck in Albania, tracing Arun pandian in jogging track, Translator scenes in Australia..are quite interesting.

Fiery dialogues which is akin with present public problems & society are rightly placed. Madhuri Ittaki is adequate.Sundar C babu delivers in background though his one song"makkal oru" puram stands out.Photography is fantastic at the outer-location of Scotland ,Australia roads.
Stunts are back bone of the movie..kudos to the Rakki rajesh for brilliant execution.

Weakness

First 40 min of the movie brings you the feeling of sitting in Political party documentary movie. It is kind of self promotion of his party to people with unnecessary dialogues and scenes not related to movie. Real movie only starts after the Australia trip. 4 songs in the first 40 min is breakdown for the movie.

Some of the scenes are bloody-gore,violent in first half of movie that may keep lady audience away from Virudhagiri.Most of the artist apart from Captain,Meenakshi and Mansoor sleep walks throughout the movie. scenes looses its continuity ...needs to blame editing part. Fair remake of fantastic Hollywood movie.

Virudhagiri is not the movie for regular action lovers. It has its moments but need to be patient for 1st 40 min
