In general, a debutant female director will direct only a breezy romantic or family sentiment movie. Sudha, a former assistant of Mani Ratnam is exception as she selected a 'gangsta' theme with some friendship betrayal is sure to be lauded. Drohi has its own moments with some originality.
Cast: Srikanth, Vishnu, Thiyagarajan, Pooja, Poonam Bajwa, Poorna, SPB Charan

Any way Karuna is released with help of local don and he started to hate his best buddy Sami.

In the training , he is given a underground job to kill all the goons of Chennai so that he tops the list of IPS. Karuna takes up the job, gets the list of goons to killed. He arrests Sami, unknowingly kills the son of don Thiyagarjan ( trap by Sami ) and so he gets in to the opposite gang. Do they understand each other? reunited or not?rest is cat and mouse game......
Strengths
Srikanth as Sami is given his best performance till date and he shows the seniority in the screen with a new dashing look with some great dialogue delivery &body language . Come on man.... gotchha a break at last. Vishnu is good at the tailor made role but still needs to look in for the expressions and dance. Poonam bajwa is cute(why is that bloody/cheap dual role?????????). Pooja has teacher in cameo is good to watch.
Photography is lovely which takes us to real Royapuram. Some of the screen shots are fantastic as it travels a lot in natural lighting. Selvaganesh Vennila kabadi fame this time shows his betterness in Background with one song "Sama yama" is kuthu spl with Rachna maurya ( shaky hip)dance . Dialogues are not that great and editing of the movie make the movie little racy.
Stunts are choreographed with perfection. Direction is fine and there are quite few scenes which are interesting ,has some unexpected twist too.( the opening train track shot, post interval, )
Weakness
The movie has no logic and both the characters funda's are not strong enough to take the story. Srikanth and Vishnu character is half baked to be more specific... not justified in the screen. Silly reasons .......Scenes looses its continuity and jumps from here and there. The plot like this should have pinned up taut& racy script but here it is confusing as well as lackluster.
Some of the scenes...love scenes between the lead pairs test your patience. lacks bubblines in the love budding scenes.Poorna is fine actor but here she irritates...it is artificial... keeping your face down with your eyeball up with black makeup will not make you royapuram girl.. songs are the major drawback fort this gangsta commercial movie.Dialgues could have been better and every body utters it slow( Mani Hangover). Every one in the movie gets punches and advises. Sudha, director has handled the script very lethargic could have concentrated on the screenplay, could have made the movie more racy.(movie run time is 1 hr 50 min)
Drohi is not the expected from Sudha, who is a Mani sir student. Still hats off!!!! to debutant director for the theme, few good scenes and the courage to make a multistarrer movie. Expecting something better...
Verdict: 3/10( 1 for Srikanth, 1 for photography and 1 for direction)
Movie canvas punch: Drohiiiiiiiiii...
