Unfortunatly on a day, Aadharava find the pen drive in the pocket and gives back to priya , feels sorry for the happening. Instantly they both become good friends, share some good relationship. Aadhrava falls in love for that girl and he plans to propose his love to Priya with a gift. But due to some confusion, Aadharva goes to jail because of misinderstanding.. Priya than comes to know from her friend that Ramesh is in love and goes to ask sorry for her idiotic behaviour.

At the same time Prasanna kills a X-MLA where the murder is witnessed by Ramesh. Being a mentor, Prassanna advices Ramesh to go out of the state for a reason . He goes to Gujarat kite festival with his friends where Samantha follows him to accept the mistake and propose her love. He doesnt look back , still Priya, his friends, mom try to convince Ramesh. At the same time, Police investigation tightens on the murder of MLA , as they are in search of Ramesh, as he is the only witness. So the Boss of Ravi gets job to kill Ramesh, as prassana hesitates. At the climax, Ramesh softens and accepts the love of Priya, where fate plays the game.

Strengths

Aadharva plays the ramesh kuppam character comfortably and it is perfect debut for him. Doesn't look like his first movie. Good at dance, emotions, and comedy. Samantha looks beautiful and fresh like cherry in the screen. she acts and emotes quite well but needs to improve on dance. Prasanna is the scene stealer with his goonda role. He is treat to watch as Royapuram ravi.(in specific advice to Aadhrva friends and climax).

Karunas after a long time does a solo comdian makes the first half jolly ride with his wicki one lines. He travels throughout the film which is the major strength of the movie. Mounika has Aadharva mother is fantastic. Other cast also does well. Yuvan Shankar Raja is hero of the movie as without the songs and romantic music these movie would have been would have been average. "takkude kann", "kuppathu raja", "en nenjil" are foot tapping has its already chartbuster. Camera is cool. Direction by Badri is fine for his kaathadi backed story and his dialougue are worth mentioning.

Weakness

The movie could have been better in terms of screenplay though it is engaging. Badri might have worked a little harder that would have made the movie a crackler. Marketing and promotions are offbeat. Kuthu song at last is not needed for the movie.
All over Baana kathadi is romantnic entertainer though the spark is missing in the story and direction

Verdict: 5.5/10(1 for the lead pair, 1 for prasanna,1 for karunas & cast perfomances,1.5 for yuvans music & 1 for dialougues and first half)
Movie canvas punch: Baana kathadi is feel good kaathadi......

  1. promotion and marketing for a movie is very important these days and the author has clearly indicated it,though the collections are good in b and c centres, advtg might have given a big boost to this movie.
