Story
Less said more enjoyed..good vs evil and atlast good triumphs..Krypton a space planet is going to be destroyed in couple of days..the secret krypton which is heart of the planet is now into the hands of a man( Russel crow)....in order to save the planet generations and his baby..he incepts all the power to his natural born baby and send him in a small space ship away from krypton..few protesters under rebel leader general Zord have been sailed away from krypton planet as they betrayed the people..but the general is hunting for the theft krypton and he is search of the child..to rebuild their planet
The space ship with child lands in Earth near Kansas , has been adopted by farmers Jonathan (Kevin Costner)and Maratha( Diana Lane)..raised has Kent Clark( Henry Cavell). Kent struggles with his child hood because of the super power abilities and fears the normal humans will stay away from him..His father supports him, encourages that world will come to know about you in a day...Kent grows up as his Father too dies in a hurricane where Kent is helpless because of his father promise..then one day a journalist Louis( Amy Adams) sees his super power in antartcia ...takes her research to his editor...but he rejects it has it is her hallucination....soon the General Zod threatens the humans ...signs a deal that the world can be in peace if they handle the super man alias Kent to him.....so goverment and Kent agrees to the deal..but soon there he is revealed about dangerous plan to destroy Earth..where Super man ..doesn't go with General plans...does the world got saved by our superman?General Zod and Krypton plans?
Strengths
Sure the brand Superman itself is the biggest strengths....enjoyed by all age groups..Henry Cavell is into the shoes of Superman does his job neat and perfect ..his physique ..expressions are amazing...home work on his stunts and emotional scenes sink well with movie..Amy adams is beautiful, whereas Diana lane and Kevin Costner can be easily the best cast with performance in this movie...As a lovable dad and mom they are real super hero...Russel crow looks fantastic ...as usual the cast looks apt for the movie..childhood story is well executed....
Photography is the biggest highlight..most of the shots which turns out as eye candy for audience..the krypton planet, the farm land evening shots, the climax are breath taking..VFX is at its best at the last 30 min..the action sequences are long and tedious after a time..Music by Hans Zimmer rocks the super hero movie...
Weakness
It has the stains of Batman and spider man movies style and substance...The movie is long 2hrs 15 min.....and first 1 hr has some repetitive dialgoues...where it snails slowly on the story part......action scenes though good..it looks blunder & bloated...where we cant take any scene in our memory ..when you are out of theatre.....Tedious and tiresome ..has action choreography could have been a benchmark ..if made better..blowing, building toppling, blasting the walls, bombing..all seen ...picturisation of this have been seen in serious super hero movies....
Love between the lead pair though not the core of the movie..isn't the best..Music misses the standard super hero blow....Iron man 3,Dark knight series and the previous superman returns seems to be better than this flick..Zack snyder has lost his midas touch..( think so!!!!) pretty lethargic direction..
Super man Man of steel is cinematically brilliant and stunning visuals but that cannot save the day....
Verdict: 4.5/10( 1 for casting & performance, 1 for Photography, 1 for VFX, 1 for action and .5 for music)
Movie canvas punch: Man of steel...doesn't really Steal our heart.
