Once again Walt Disney pictures have come out with a entertainer but this time with splendid special effects and CG works which is their cuppa!!!. story? not to worry its just fight between good and evil.forget it!!!
Story
Merlyn is the father of magicians and he has 3 sishya's(nicolas cage,monica and other). Merlyn strongly believe that magic should be handled only for the good cause and not to disturb the human life. But the evil lady Morgana kills Merlyn with the help of one sishya who betrays his master due to failed love affair with Monica belluchi who has soft corner for Nicolas.
Morgana tries to give life to underworld evils and wants to rule the world. But her wish goes awry has Monica swallows her soul, sacrifices her life. To save her life Nicolas puts both their soul in jar. Merlyn at the time of death gives a dragon ring which will set in the fingers of saviour who is gonna to be the master of all magics and has the ability to kill Morgana without trace.
So Nicolas starts his search for that guy for 1000 years and finally he finds the child in antique shop where the other evil sishya also finds that guy and tries to kill the child. Nicolas saves him and after twelve years again Nicolas finds him again,gives the basic practices of magics and it tricks. The guy falls in love with the college mate where he gets disturbed in his training sessions. The evil guy finds him tries to get the ring and kill the boy.
In the fight Nicolas saves the boy but the ring is lost to the baddy where he goes to wake up the long year sleeping Morgana in jar.Nicolas cage finally leaves the boy and goes for fight alone has the boy cannot do tricks without the rings. will that baddy woke up Morgana? whether the boy mastered in magicians? watch the movie for its bad one bows to the good one in climax.
Strengths
The movie's complete strength lies in the CG works .Mind blowing graphics!!!. dogs turning in to cats,giant eagle,dragon etc.. and lots to watch..It feels like real though watching the reel. Graphics is double the delight where the story is wield around the magicians . Oscar winner Nicolas cage played great , fits the character very well with his great modulation and magicians body language. Monica Belluchi, Terasa Palmer and the rest of the cast provide the great support to screenplay.
Music composition blends well with the story. The dialogues are fine. Screen play is sure coated with humor scenes which makes us to enjoy and relax. The photography is Zooooooomm!!
magical ,goes with the characters played in the movie. Chases and stunts are well captured. The national treasure director Jon Turteltaub ...man!!! good job
Weakness
Thousand time told story and some times we guess what is the forthcoming scenes . significant weakness of the movie!!!. The movie mostly focus on 4 to 5 characters, rest left with minor touches. The script writers thoughts were imaginative and good team work with CG still it could have been better.
The Sorcerer's Apprentice is sure graphical treat..It will surprise you when you watch in big screen. Movie strongly recommended for children and graphical entertainer who doesn't mind story/logic
Verdict: 5/10( 2 for CG's,1 for Nicolas and performances, 1 for photography and 1 for screenplay)
