From there, Arjun reads the diary of his father Sekar, his love life and the past happenings. Anu and Arjun are contrast in their character. slowly after some initial gun-go, love blossoms between them but both hesitate to show off pulling their own legs.
Story juggles between 1982 and 2010. 1982 Sekar(Arya) comes to karaikudi for his grandpa 60th year marriage function meets Preethika, daughter of village headmaster. They both love as Sekar grandpa warns the headmaster family to run out village by threatening them. Sekar & Preethika plan to run away to live a new life but Preethika held up with emotional dad. Strengths
Undoubtfully, it is the photography and the location makes up this movie a watchable fare. Clear pictures and camera angles are at its best, ,........be it London or karaikudi streets. Some fun filled sequences between Arya and shreya with cute dialogues are good. The flash back story which revolves in 1982 is better than the present one ,executed well as it is evoke interest.
Music by hariharan is okay as it is not adequate for love story though "oru nila" and "zara" songs are hummable. Dance choreography is good ....first title song moves are cool. Arya stands out as Sekar but fails to bring charm as Arjun.Preethika Rao debut movie, sister of bollywood Amrita Rao is fresh-beautiful with traditional costumes, acts too. Shreya is beautiful with stylish costumes and hair style. Anup makes his presence. It is all Santhanam, at the police training keeps you engaged in the second half.
Weakness
The story is heavily borrowed from old movies like DDLJ,Jab we Met, Sachin etc...nothing is new in scenes or lacks freshness in the treatment which makes us boring. Arya as Arjun,,lost his in the character as he sleep walks throughout the movie. Shreya over acts in her mimics -completely lost in acting department in specific ... climax ..no emotion/dumb expressions.
Music to a extent is let down. Direction is poor as well as the screen play. Flash back portions could have been little more realistic. not much difference in 80's costumes ,sets...
But the movie is fair deal comes without nonsense punches, Vulgar, action,.
Verdict: 4/10( 1 for photography & locations, 1 for Arya/preethika, 1 for santhanam, and 1 for cute story)
Movie canvas Punch: Chikku bukku.....not a hear warming love journey......
