Thuppaki movie review

           A.R .Murugadass class director and Thalapathy Vijay the mass actor ..first time joined with some out standing technical team and casting in Thuppaki produced by Thaanu...the expectations were sky rocketing and yet the team has delivered a racy and sensible film...which will set the box office on fire....

Story

        Jagadish(Vijay) an Indian army officer and DIA Specialist is on vacation for 40 days ..comes to his home place Mumbai is born Tamilian...He and his family from the station takes him for bride looking ceremony ..they see the bride Nisha( Kajal Agarwal)..though he likes her ..he is not interested in marriage due to few reasons..but after few initial misunderstanding ..Jagadish falls for Nisha...At the same time..He and his school mate Balaji( Satyan, SI in Mumbai..  encounter a pick pocket case in running bus..Alas..it turns out to be the dangerous start..bus gets blasted because of a terrorist..

     After a few interesting scenes between Vijay and  Terrorist ... comes to know that....city is gonna attacked by terrorist in dozen places...Jagadish sketches out a few plans... together with his camp mates in Mumbai prevents the deadly attack...in the mean time..Nisha who hates Jagadish ..says okay to other military officer( Jayaram) a senior of Jagadish...but Nisha practically thinks and with the guidance of her friends she too proposes to Vijay..But need to convince Jayaram....

   Jagadish plan succeeds  by killing those terrorist as they called as sleeper cells ...with this news..the sleeper cells head( Vidyut Jamal ) comes out of the shell..wants to find who is behind the attack...waiting for the revenge...with a loop hole left by Jagadish ..he slowly nears the team and other army persons with interesting clues...Jagadish too gets alert, with the moves..and even he traps the head with a kidnapping plan..(... intelligent scene )...but slowly...Head gets Jagadish to the corner and reveals a dangerous plan which is not good for the country and army..how does Jagadish succeeds ? what about Nisha,Jayaram and Jagadish loves?...unfold in brilliant way.....

Strengths
             It is Director Murugadass..the master behind the movie..tough with some logic jumps..he cleverly hides it with racy and tout screenplay..Trademark style of ARM's movie..Strong message said in simple way with some outstanding performances , casting and technical team...Post interval scenes, Sniffer dog scenes, the climax, church encounter, Kajal-Vijay-Jeyaram love triangle scenes are scream to watch....innovative scenes and sensible climax makes the movie tick.....The next is Illaya thalapathy Vijay, the man of the masses played this army officer role is gutsy way....Cool in love scenes, aggressive in investigation  furious in stunts, amazing dance moves...his modulation, body language, even his costumes are stylish..looked so smart, stylish
  in the movie...underplayed well...kudos to him for not repeating the routine type movie...

       Kajal Agarwal looks beautiful  and gorgeous in  sarees as well as modern outfits...she even tried her hands in the comedy .and  succeeds to great extent.....Jeyaram proves his versatility and he is uncomparable in his comic timings..Vidyut Jamal is menacing...muscular..smarter villain..does good with Vijay..Satyan evokes laughter in most of the scenes.Two sisters of Vijay does neat job...other casting performances are good..

     Technically movie is outstanding..Santhosh sivan gives the movie a different color and shade... Photography is class and gloss...The movie looked stylish ...in Hollywood tone..it is due to magical Santhosh Sivan..the fights...chases..uncaptured Mumbai locations..and the songs...in one word ..Supertastic.... Editing by Sreekar Prasad is razor sharp...Thotta Tharni sets are amazing..All this three are behind our criticism...legends don't need comments...Stunts by Kechha is thrilling...the kidnap fight is raw...Dance choreography is cool with Shobi, Dhinesh and Sreedar doing fine job..Music by Harris Jeyaraj surprises us in Background score..he rocks.."Google" , "Andartika" & "Vennilave"( superbly shot) are hummable...climax is emotional and ode to Army officer is good touch...

Weakness

             Script had some flaws too..how come Jagadish conducts the mission without the senior attention..? Intellegent officer how come doesn't plan the next move of finding Vidyut and handing himself to the terrorist?...Google song could have shot better..Harris music is little below average in terms of songs.....second half is little slow when compared to racy first half..

         Over all, it is honest and dedicated attempt by Vijay,ARM and the team to give a action entertainer with a strong message..It is script , Electrifying performances and the technical team which makes Thuppaki is cracker of the entertainer ...Thaanu ...kudos for bringing the team and the movie...
