Story
Sakthi( Vishal), do gooder, loves trees and forest, is a trekker ..lives with his family. Roopa( Sunaina) who comes for trekking falls in love with Sakthi.. but soon she realizes he is not the right person, as he spend much time with forest and loving trees.. flowers..She breaks up..three months later , Sakthi gets a letter from Roopa , and feels difficult to forget her love with him..She has sent a flight ticket to Bangkok, so that we will start a new love life..Sathi packs his bag and flies to Bangkok..
He meets a girl Maya( Trisha) in the flight journey and become good friends and even he shares his love story..but soon after landing bangkok, Sakthi cannot meet his lover..helped by Tamil police officer( Sampath)..he searches Roopa for couple of days by staying with Sampath..But sooner.he is attacked by gangsters with guns..saved by Manohar( John vijay) , who introduces himself has his personal body guard and reveals that he is the great business man...few days later..with lot ambiguity Sakthi approaches Maya for the help to get out of the Trap..But situation puts Maya also not believing him..Bangkok Police department salutes him ...on paralle the gansters also praise him..Sakthi cannot even escape from place because Maya too gets in trouble...
Before the interval..Sakthi gets a small clue but still confused why he is trapped?...he comes to know about John ( JD Chakravarthy) and his partner( Manoj Pajpayee) who play some psyco path mind games with humans, who are billionares...how he comes out of the web forms the crux.....
Strengths
It is the first half of the movie...with some unexpected twist and turns, surprises the audience baring the first 20 min of the movie...Vishal entering the Bangkok scene till interval..it is riveting..unguessable scenes and elements....Then Vishal is great to watch..be it love with Sunaina or Trisha..he excels..and not to forget his own play ...fights..breath taking stunts and this tall man does it with style...dances good.he played his strengths better..Trisha..is ever gorgeous ( 10 yrs in industry...)..she gets more space in the screen...does good with grey shade role..nothing big about the cast apart from john vijay..terrific performance...
Richard M. Nathan..photography is at its best...be it Islands of Bangkok, Train in markets, the stunts, ooty scenes, songs..he is the man who makes us to watch the movie beyond the flaws..Refreshing photo graphy..Stunts are mind blowing..the chases in the narrow streets of Bangkok, ooty forest fight are bang...kudos to the stunt masters...Yuvan ' " azaghu "song stays in the heart. Screenplay and build up scenes in the first half is done good. thiru ..the director..done a fine job for trying out some thing new to our audience
Weakness
Logic goes for toss from the scene 1 ...the second half of the movie and suspense /concept is little alien or say lacks nativity to our audience...it also test the patience & towards the climax it is childish...Jd and Manoj pajpayee the great actors have been wasted with a mental characters and body language..not clearly etched out roles....Music by yuvan is letdown and background score by Dharan would have been surely better for this movie....heavily borrowed/ lifted from the hollywood flicks like Condemned, tournament and US reality shows....lacks originality..Thiru could have woven the screen play better to give a full-fledged thriller..
1. Why is Vishal Character called as Trekker in the movie..no where it is related apart from first 10 min...?
2. Without seeing the address or calling her through phone..he flies to bangkok? even common man would do that..searching for the address after reaching Bangkok ?
3. Why vishal has been projected has businessman, gangster, a police friendly guy of bangkok by the JD group ? it provides suspense element but..after the interval. this first half seems to ridiculous!!! how come all the person in the Bangkok are made believed to be true..
4. In a scene, where they keep cameras in Trisha home and watch her die, but she comes alive...Vishal explains it..very silly...how come vishal knows they both went out for pub when she wakes up Trisha???
5. You have lot of public places /chances to reveal that Vishal is in trap...but all of the sudden, the baddie characters in the movie turn good and says the secret in restroom of the PUB??
Samar is pretty good in the concept ,conceived good in the first half but half way it turns out to be the dampner..Thiru has to be appreciated for giving the audience a new experience but fails in the narration..
Verdict:3.5/10( 1 for first half, 1 for Vishal & Trisha, 1 for the photography and .5 for stunts)
