Niru keeps a Spy to follow his husband Viswa...to get a point to file a divorcee..Alas, the spy unfortunatly got in the hands of Terrorist ..gets killed and they follow the address in his diary directly to Niru' shouse...After few arguement with her boss and Vishwa, both of them are taken into the custody in a sub urb ware house..Niru comes to know that his husband is muslim... In the custody, Viswa is beaten hard and taken his pictures and sent to Omar( Rahul Bose) who heads the terrorist group related to Al-quaida...Soon after seeing the picture he commands them to shoot Vishwa in the legs and keep him alive till he comes...but that is not happening....here comes Vishwaaa' real roopam...

Omar goes to the flashback which kick starts in Afghan Al- Querida camp, where Omar is introduced to Kashmiri( Kamal) who joins them, trains the suicide attackers and jihad people..Omar is impressed by Kashmiri 's potential and arranges a meet with Bin-Laden...but soon after the meeting the NATO strikes...and then there is Kashmiri's roopam...Then movie comes back to America where they comes to know Kashmiri is RAW agent & special in Research analysis wing of India..is teamed up with Andrea and Shekar kapoor ...after few incidents, Kashmiri comes to know the dangerous act of Omar and their plan on attacking US..did the team stopped the accident? arrested the culprit Omar? What is danger /threat to US ? how Kashmiri and Nirupama with intelligence comes out of the dirty act is presented in breathtaking way.....

Strengths

Dr. Kamal hassan has a actor, writer and director succeeds in a fabulous way..the intro. scenes of Kamal , the Kathak dance and his skills , his feminine act -body language , sudden transformation from the dancer to the spy , stunts are one word astounding...He is that's why called as Universal hero...He risked a lot in stunts, Expertise in Kathak, committed performance and perfection in shots are truly amazing..Its universal nayagan, who has to be credited all the way...on the direction front.. he gets deep in Afghan scenes, Islam's Family bonding, children training on guns and bombs, Cceium, nuclear detonation, his trade mark one-lines , hilarious punches with some imaginative scenes and visual are unforgettable...he shines better in the direction and story telling tooo...Pooja kumar is brilliant as Niru, and she gets her expression right most of the times..her accent , costumes and innocence are great to watch..she is gorgeous ..a noted performance...Rahul  bose is excellent in his role and has lived like Omar with his one-eye /deadly villain character......he is there in every scenes and score equally to Kamal. Most of the scenes are realistic..natural..and sensible

Other cast such as Shekar Kapoor , Andrea, Nasser, the child of Rahul bose, Shekar Kapoor friend and CBI police officers are impressive..Every body played there part perfectly..and to the  technical side...The photography is awesome..beautiful..the Afghan locations, the stunts seqence in  Afghan, the chase in the streets of US , the car drive journey in the dust roads, talkie portion are spell-bounding..He is the greates strenght of this Magnum opus ...perfection applauded...the editing is racy and cuts are sure of Hollywood standards...Shankar Eaasan-Loy "yaar", "kannatha kannum" are good..and especially the placement of the song "Yaar" in the movie is Rocking....Background score sets up the movie in Bang....Stunts choreography is at its best with Kamal view & wisdom...the Spy transformation stunt in warehouse, the chase and choppers shots, rocket launchers, guns and bullet fights ..WOW....needs to pat them back for its perfection..CFX is not childish ...its obviously one of the best to be utilised n the high-ocatane action thriller...

Weakness

Is that easy fools to accept Kamal as Taliban and revealing the secrets by WANTED poster?..Afghan scenes are quite dragged, though it tells more about human and terrorist emotions/life with great touch...if it would have been  more on investigation/ interrogation scenes, stunts..it would been the more racy....Few scenes are objectionable like terrorist reading Qur'an..killing people/chopping the heads could have been avoidable....Violent& brutal killings will sure keep away soft audience...climax too an extent lack spice and small let down..

But that not the fact,,Viswaroopam is surely one the best action-spy thriller, executed with fine screen play,  equally supported by some best technicians with some energetic cast performance....high -octane action cum drama spy- thriller....in our Indian Cinema.Taken Our cinema standard to the next level...

Verdict: 8/10( 2 for Kamal acting & direction, 1 for Pooja & cast, 1 for Photography, 1 for BGM, 1 for CFX, 1 for action sequences, 1 for dialgoues/ "yaar Ivan" song)

Movie canvas Punch: Viswaroopam...Legends  Vishwaa( Kamal's ) ROOPAM
