Ameer-Jeyam ravi combo..Ameer after 6 yrs ..the last was Paruthiveeran...movie was in production for long time...but still the crowd got excited because it is Ameer...Aadhi bagavan , the title and its caption is catchy but does the film ??

Story
Aadhi( Jeyam Ravi) is big don in Bangkok and deals with Mafia, drugs and hawala thing...though he lives rich, he is searching for pure love.. unfortunately , his mother( Sudha) and sis leave in same place but they are not interested with Aadhi has he earns money in wrong path...At time he meets a Tamil girl( Neetu) in a bar and in the first sight he gets impressed .... after few meeting he starts loving her..even spend million bucks to get her back from the bar Hench man.... initially she hates him and stays away ..but after few days...she fell in love with him and even save him from a bullet firing..Aadhi proposes to marry her ...she wants her father's s wish..so Aadhi and she flies to Mumbai to get her fathers blessings..
But alas!!! Aadhi is forcefully pulled into a trap and the trap is laid non other the bar girl , and reveals her original identity as Rani..She is lover of Bagavan( Jeyam Ravi) who is transgender in nature, terrorize Mumbai with his gunda/dada act...in a dealing, Bagavan murders minister's son .and so Minister orders Bagavan for shoot at sight order..Bagavan and Rani hides in a place for shelter but Rani comes to see picture of Aadhi who looks like Bagavan..She gets dirty and dangerous plan...zig- zag AAdhi in the place of Bagavan, kill him so that she and Bagavan can live happily..Slowly Aadhi in the police custody come to know the plan..he narrowly escapes from the encounter act and waiting for revenge against Bagavan and Rani..Did he avenges them or not?
Strengths
The second half is quite racy and last 30 min was pretty interesting with Cat and mouse game of Ravi and Neetu...Stunt choreography is great ...the climax chase..fight carves a niche ...it is raw and dusty..the warehouse fight to stands out...the photography captures Goa and Bangkok in different shades ....doesn't experiment much but sure it is an asset for the Mafioso action love story....Yuvans Title theme song and background score at some point is highlight....Editing is okay...suspense element of Bagavan and Neetu character ..keep up the promise to few extent
Jeyam Ravi has don Aadhi shines better and his dashing look ..voice changeover and second half presence makes Jeyam ravi a star performer .He worked hard on his stunts.. toned his muscular body...is joy to watch .As Bagavan...he tries to get the variation to maximum....but his height and careless voice,body language spoils it..Neetu chandra is surprise pack in this movie..she performed it like versatile actor and her stunt with Ravi is daring ..gritty grey shade performance of Neetu..
Weakness
First half test your patience and the love story..or chemistry between them is missing by miles...We have seen all these don build ups,blazer /Sunglass, a walk in sea or foreign location with three people behind hero lot of times..Ameer to repeated here the same..the story is not so strong and pace set in the movie is also not remarkable.......same hated mother-son story...apppaa Can' t digest saw thousands of time from M.G .R till Vijay, Ajith gen...........Women always smoking, drinking....smoking..killing brutally doesn't look good..and even Neetu misses her villany expressions..Ravi could have done additional work on the Transgender act/women act..Check out Kamal in vishwaroopam and Ajith in Varalaaru...they were truly admirable...though the story pulled down their performances
Casting is lethargic and every body in the movie except few act like funny guys, bad accents and sleep walk their role..Ameer is hard task master...what happened??Yuvan has lost his magic touch...Ameer-yuvan combo always rocked in terms of songs,,,but utterly failed here ..none of the songs make a mark....screenplay could have been tight in first half..and not seen scenes are very rare in the movie....comedy could have carried out first half..
Ameer kindly stick to your style of movie making..else come out with more racy entertainment...This movie shows that how hard is to make a commercial entertainer ...by so-called reality directors failing in this aspects
Verdict: 3.5/10 ( 1 for Ravi & Neetu) , 1 for Stunts, 1 for Photography and .5 last 30 min)
Movie canvas Punch: Aadhi Bagavan....not worth for long wait...
