Story
Karthik( Sachin) who is son of doctor( Jayaprakash) aspire to become a journalist is in love with Athidi( Poo Parvathi)..He gets the job and his first Assignment is to interview a great film star Gowtham Krishna( Prakash raj) who doesn't have time to spend with family his wife( Radhika) and her lovely daughter....quite busy with his film commitments and his ego..On the way to the interview , Karthik gets in to brain death stage due to terrible accident , chennai...At the same time the daughter of the great film star is suffering from heart diesase and she needs immediet surgery..off course heart transplantation..in vellore.
On the other hand , a traffic constable S atyamoorthi(Cheran) reporting to his duty after two months suspension for bribery of 15000 rs..due to poor family situations..even his sister and few neighbhors hate him, but he is very honest and silent person....then there is Robin( Prasanna) a doctor who is married to (iniya) is embarrssed and tensed due to her illegal affair with his best friend Ashwin..he hits and run her wife in car and joins theduty in the hospital like a innocent
So the doctors convince Karthik parents , that he cant survive and plans for transport the heart to the vellore patient who is stars daughter...they go to police commisioner of chennai Sundarapandian( Sarath kumar) for help...but he rejects the mission bco'z it is impossible..because it needs to travelled 170 kms in another 1 and half hour...it might result in few other damages..and conveys the practical diffculties in it..atlast, he accepts the challenge..starts the mission..selects a driver, sathaymoorthy for the mission, who is accompanied with Robin and Karthik friend Ajmal in the trip...did they reach the hospital and done the transplantation ? or they failed the mission....
Strengths
It is undoubtfully the oceanic casting and their dedicated performance...Be it Praksahraj as a film star, Sarath kumaras commisioner, Radhika, Poo Parvathi as Karthiks lover, Jayapraksah as Sahcin father, cheran as constable, Prasanna as doctor and cameo of Surya are terrific..but it is Parvathi, Praksah raj and Sarath scores better than other..Parvathi is beautiful and acts at her best...Prakasha raj is sponataneous in his role and Sarath is dynamic...The strong story is another plus for the movie, as it is based on true event..and awareness about the organ donation...it is very much needed message for our society at this time ...Few twists and surprises are good which hooks up audience to the seats...the interval before 20 minutes...the life of film star and their family unfulfilled desire....the parents feel at the time of Organ donations, Parvathi-Sachin scenes..cheran' life style are deftly handled....
Photography is faster ..shines welll in the accident / travelling scenes..as well as editing ..music to the movie is justified to this racy story..the direction is pretty good as Shahir gets fullest work from every individual..dont forget about the wide publicity and regular ad in the paper...marketing is biggest plus for the movie..the movie is suitable for family audience..no violence, item songs,vulgariy, rope fights, double endrades, cross comedy..pats for the team
Weakness
Though it had solid plot,,the screen play woven in & around the Organ transplantaion scenes/ sequences are limping and ...it is fragile and illogical is many scenes...if you
think about logic..then we will not enjoy the movie..but director has given a chance to over see logics in many scenes....for eg
1.. Prasanna calls iniya in phone and asks her where she is..for a anniversary surprise..she replies she is in boutique for shopping..time in screen flashes 8.35 a.m..where does a shop open at chennai by the time.... that too...a showrooom or boutique..?
2. One of place where they can't cross within time and they say one man can do it...all of the sudden Actor surya appears in Tv, calls his fans head and gives them a work to clear the area.( enna koduamai!!!!..even police cant clear the area it seems!!!)..and they do..at the time he gives interview in the tv..that every body watching pls help..Prakash raj is himself a star and why wouldn't he ask help of surya..but some other person ask s??
3. They say helicopter is not available due to bad weather conditions..yes in chennai it was raining at the time of Prasanna scenes..but when cheran drives the car in the road ..sky is hot and clear..what happened to the helicopter then????
unwanted story of illegal affair with prasanna/iniya and there part doesn't do good with story...parvathi gets a call from sachin father to come to house..unleft then....cheran drives the vehicle in the rain at the climax and tells the person who invovled in accident and moves out...what is the message...It has to like fire in the rain...kinda script...the significant part is travelling and hospital scenes..a t theclimax they show the hospital and daughter wakes up after surgery...
Emotinal scenes are there but we cant feel the emotions or feeling...like Bala's Paradesi or Ridley scott's Unstoppable,...we cannot feel the scene or character..it just goes all the way....
Verdict: 3.5/10( 1 for big cast & dedicated performance, 1 for story & plot, 1 for clean entertainer, .5 for publicity)
