Vaanam Tamil Movie Review

Vaanam ..promos in TV promised us a different venture from STR. sure;-) ..Vaanam is completely new to tamil movie where the narration is fantastic.Vaanam a remake of telugu Vedham sticks mostly to original has delivered a good flick .

Story

It is the story of five persons and their lifestyle presented in different way as all those stories conclude in climax. Movie opens with the story of Bharat(bharat) , a rich born guy whose ambition is to become a rock star with his band. Though, he is son of Military person and his mom wants him to serve nation,Bharat doesn't seem to be interested.He gets selected to do live program in chennai and his band members travel to chennai from Banglore as they miss the flight. The second , starts in village near Thoothukudi where Saranya,a poor-illiterate mother is the hand of debtor wants her son to study well. But due to the non-payment of interest, the debtor takes the child to his custody and gets them time of three days to settle money. So Saranya agrees to sell a kidney for her son Studies and land in Chennai.

Rahim(Prakash raj) and his wife(sonia) a good muslim human is in search of his brother who is missing from the a bad incident which happens to Sonia in Coimbatore. Rahim get a hint -comes to Chennai in search of his brother where he lands up in the hands of tough-inspector in jail for wrong reasons. The fourth , Saroja (Anuskha ) a sizzling, sex worker with her colleague Akka , a trans gender escapes from Rani amma who is the head of the prostitute gang. Saroja's Ambition is to start a new company ,wants to run on his own lands in Chennai gets into the trouble


The last one happens in Chennai where Cable Raja( STR) who works as cable connection guy in the slum is love with a rich girl Priya( jasmine) where she doesn't know that he is slum guy thinking that he is millionaire. She wants him to come to a premium party to meet her mother so that all our marriage proposal will be smooth. So Raja needs money to get the premium party passes ...he turns himself as a chain snatcher with his Dan dan( Santhanam) also gets in trouble. All these five stories ...connects to a single climax which unites them...with a shocking -tragedy at the End...

Strengths

It's Krish, the director of the movie has portrayed every character which is close to the heart in the society. The way of narration is also neat& unique which is not clumsy.difficult story woven in simple way. Krish keeps the audience attention from the word go..has it doesn't lose its stream. Good /small messages to delivered in the script ..needs a pat. Emotional ...screenplay with all class attempt. STR has given knock out performance...as Cable Raja..He doesn't have much scenes in the first half....seems to be routine STR movie but..its all STR show in the last 30 min of the movie. be it...emotion,shock,surprise, anger,frustation...superb..Surprise thrown to audience in the name of STR..Santhanam the man who take care of the comedy tickles you most of the time with his antics and dialogues

Saranya not to forget her the innocent mother performance.tops ..in performance.Prakash raj transfers himself as any character is visible in the movie too...he rocks as usual. Bharat,a cool suave guy has come a long way given a mature performance-presented himself well as upper rich class guy. Anushka,,has lived as saroja with her meaty role ..oozes some oomph factor with her hippy-hoppy show. Every body has done the job.....Ganesh,Old man,child, etc....

Nirav shah lighting is excellent as it gives a grey shade to the characters.different show for all the five stories lighting, angles are praise worthy. Yuvan "Evan de" , "No money" "cable raja" will entertain the front benchers "vaanam" song picturised well for the situation. Shines in BGM too ..but not classy. Editing is apt for the complex narration. Dialogues are penned keeping the present society in mind.

Weakness

It is the similar pattern of hollywood Babel, and few movies. Choreography is below average with Silambarasan and bharat two best dancers in kollywood in the board should have rocked at least in a song. All songs could have been better picturised. Some may lose the connection in the story..needs a good observation.

Vaanam is fine, heart feel movie will sure have a place in the good movie of tamil cinema
