Story
Vinayak Mahadeven( Ajith), a mumbai police officer has been suspended for a act...lives a trendy life with his lover ( Trisha). Trisha dad( Jaya prakash) a local biggie runs a bar/gambling place also....planning to round up all the betting money of the IPL cricket game of 500 crores. more over he tries to take the big money wants to settle down in life..His employee( Vaibhav) gets into plan with his three other friends a police SI, a IIT techie(Premji), Premji's friend to steal the amount from the owner.
But all of the sudden...Vinayak comes to know the plan through Premji as he uttered during a drinking session in a bar. Mumbai police gets the information of betting and appoints a CBI officer Prithiv( Arjun) to investigate the case. He arrest lot of bookies in city.So Jaya praksah wants all of them to put his business idle for two days. They plan to steal it at that time...but vinayak intervenes with them..gets other plan to them..and request them for a share...they accept it and steal the money.
Vinayak has other plans ...he plans to kill all other four ..and wants to enjoy the money..Jayapraksah doubts his employee Vaibhav..gets in to action who are all in these games..Vinayak saves him ..comes to warehouse. where the money is kept with a security alert too...Alas !!! Premji,lakshmi rai and his friend takes 500 crores .Vinayak doubts Vaibhav and the police SI..but seems to be innocent.. the rest is cat and mouse...life saving game who is gonna to have money ..comes out with thunderous twist at the climax...
Strengths
Thala ..the showman of the movie..one has to need the guts to play a cruel and negative role in his landmark movie...Ajith done it with elan..complete second half belongs to the man of masses...With the salt& pepper look, his expressions..he takes us to the another level...fans to rejoice their idol.Action king takes the back seat but his character is well etched and the stunts by him are asusual..looked smart and don the role with guts.. the cast is big and premji with the new SI guy , Jayaprakash has good footage..rest all kicka ---poo's.
Technically the movie is good too. Yuvans this time with Premji has done a terrific background score and the theme is pick of lot though ..some shades on death race movie title track ..touches your mind..songs are okay..." kan jadai", "vilayadu" fine..rest passable..Cinematographer sakthi saravanan cope up with the movies action scenes and coloring needs a special mention..He is a another hero ..shares the dias with editor too...Stunts are cheeky....not spine chilling.Venkat has made a better movie that goa and Ajith screen presence makes the movie high...though the second half is taken well with some interesting twists and turns...kept the pace..
Weakness
The first 40 min of the movie ..test our patience..very slow and comedy .mmmm...nothing to mention..till the pre intervals scenes the movie is below average...Ajith has been man of don for the last few release..needs to come out of the shell blazers,guns, coolers,..expecting Varalaru,villian ....Stunts are well copied from hollywood flicks..some to mention like jolie's wanted, Bruce wills red,....even the movie suffers in term of Originality..specific the 2nd part is scenes to scene lift from the hollywood flicks like..wild things, ocean eleven, takers, italian job, shadow..etc....
Bevy of beauties in the movie but none of them impress. songs act as speed breakers for the movie.
Still, it is new to the audience of south and for thala you can watch..
