7am arivu movie review

Mammooth expectation ..7 aam Arivu with Ghajini trio back with Shruthi ..daughter of legend Kamal debuting was creating some gung-ho .Home work has been done a lot by Murugadoss and Surya but no where near to Ghajini..still movie has brought out the history of unsaid-forgotten Tamilian ..kudos to A.R Murugu.

Story

Movie start with a bang...at 500 b.c where Bodhi Dharman( Surya) a Pallava king travels to china as said by guru.He is best versed king in medicine and martial arts..He reaches china ..gets into village after 3 years of travelling..The village people doesn't allow him . Unfortunately village is affected with unknown disease ..even attacked by the Conan type thieves(must be!!!!).Bodhi dharman saves the people with his excellence in medicine and martial arts..He teaches all arts including medicines to the people and dies there for the wish of people.Bodhi now is the god for many in China.

Story shift to present Chennai where Aravind( Surya) a circus acrobat falls in love with Shuba(Shruthi) a genetic engineering student who is in their tent to hire a monkey for a research.Aravind convince the manager and travels with her..Slowly they get to know each other..On parallel ..Dong lee(Johny)a chinese martial art and hypnotist expert comes to India on a mission Red. Sent by Chinese Goverment against India to bring down the economy growth and lead a future bio-war. Aravind comes to know through their relatives that Shuba is already know to them and she knows well about you before a year.He comes to know that Shuba is not in love but she utilizes for her research.

Shuba then reveals the truth about Bodhi..who is none but the forefather of Arvind where 83% of his DNA matches with Bodhidharman. After realizing the seriousness of her research and the facts, Aravind lends support to her.But Dong lee tries to kill Shubha and Aravind as the mission primary object is to stop the research. They escape from him and finds the person who is in support of the chinese..With their intelligence ..they make right move.Alas ..the disease in 500 b.c starts to spread and create havoc in Chennai.Bodhi needs to come back...so Shuba and her team finds a secret place and runs test on Aravind to bring back Bodhi..Have they done it? did Dong lee succeed in mission? forms the climax with a good /untold message at the end.

Strengths

Murugadoss needs a pat on his back to reveal the history that the Chinese martial arts and the medicines have been taught by a Tamil king from Kanchipuram..brought back 1000 year secret ...Bodhi dharman name is now know to every body in Tamilnadu...history should be known to every one and it should not rest in school books ..History is important for the countrys growth and has forgot lot of saints and kings life..Few scenes evoke curiosity...thats Murug's class touch...Surya as Bodhi and Aravind has done tremedous job..As a circus acrobat ....cynosure to all eyes..his home work on body and expression is well seen..

Shruthi hassan, debut movie places her in fine actress list.She looks beautiful and does her scenes well...Good at dance, costumes, ..beautiful in songs....fresh like rose..performs better in emotion scenes tooo...Welcome young lady...Johnny has better edge than Surya and shruthi..his expression are magic..and he does it with elan..Stunts are mind blowing johnny..He is the man to watch in the movie..Rest of the cast does justice.

Exquisite cinemotography and exotic locales get right with Ravi.K chandran camera. Some of the shots are hollywood standards and no doubt ..he has added great flavor to the movie.First 30 min..is his space..Editing is top -notch with some furious cuts.Harris songs "yamma Yamma" & "Mun andhi" stands out. Peter Hain with Johnny as choreographed the stunts ...it is dynamite..Best to the movie standards. Costumes are colorful. sets gets us the Pallava feel.Dialogues in some places are firy/fiery.

Weakness

Brilliant opening fails to capitalize with the rest of the movie....Screenplay is Shoddy ,inept and immature..Logic overflows in lot of place.....Even our Indian Secret Service doesn't know the mission..??Within 15 days Bodhi is Back( scientist needs to check out)..even the villain devastates the police head quarters..recorded in the cctv..he walks cool in the roads of Chennai..what are the police doing?

Irrelevant dialgous and scenes trouble us....Love scenes doesn't create impact nor the genetic-eng. ....songs are misplaced ..Harris has not given his best to songs and even background score gets the feel of c grade action flick....A.R Murugadoss lost his focus on screen play and none of them is said completely....be it Bodhi , genetic -eng., love or circus..half baked..... length also worries

Even though it had flaws..7 am Arivu team can be relaxed and proud for bringing out the passionate movie on Tamilians. Udayanidhi Stalin has too be appreciated
